The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce aggressively promotes issues and activities that meet member needs and enhance the business climate and economic well being of the Quincy area.

With a wide variety of special events offered year-round, Quincy is not only a wonderful place to live but a fun place to visit as well. From opera performances to sporting events to chili cookoffs, there's something for everyone here.
Quincy boasts of four major historical districts. Each shows a wide array of architectural styles and displays the affluence of the period from 1850-1930 when Quincy was the most prominent river town in Illinois. Homes and commercial buildings reflect Italianate, Greek and Renaissance Revival, Romanesque, Queen Anne and Prairie designs. The Gardner Museum of Architecture and Design preserves and interprets that heritage through research and the development of exhibits and public educational programs. Each year, the Quincy Preserves hosts an architectural tour that opens these historic buildings to the public.
While other downtown areas may be struggling, Quincy has experienced a resurgence in its Historic Quincy Business District. In addition to serving as the hub for professional services, the downtown has unique locally-owned shopping opportunities, upscale dining and abundant entertainment. Big box retailers prefer Broadway Street, a six-mile, four-lane stretch of abundant shopping that includes the Quincy Mall, recently under new ownership.
